Last week Seattle-based pet insurance company Trupanion and its employees donated over 6 tons of dog and cat food to local animal shelters including the Seattle Humane Society, Everett Animal Shelter, and the Human Society of Tacoma and Pierce County.

The annual food drive is a major initiative within Trupanion’s Shelter Support Program.

The combined effort of Trupanion’s employees nearly doubled their record for last year’s pet food donation of 3.9 tons.

It also allowed the company to give to more local shelters.

The donations can supplement pet food banks at local shelters that support low-income community members keep their pets.

“Trupanion’s annual food drive has become one of the team’s favorite times of the year, and we’re thrilled to know that through our efforts we are making such a difference in the lives of pets,” said Emily Renfrew, Shelter Support Manager at Trupanion. “These shelters work tirelessly to make sure that all pets are receiving the best care possible. We hope this donation will help support their efforts.”

Thanks to Trupanion and its employees for supporting local animal shelters.
