KGW TV ran a story tonight confirming that a pet leasing company in Portland euthanized 3 adoptable dogs last November.
Last week I wrote that Hannah the Pet Society euthanized these dogs under the direct order of company founder Dr. Scott Campbell because he said they were “aggressive.”
However, none of the adopters returned their dogs due to aggression problems. And none the behavior assessments conducted by Hannah employees on the dogs mentioned they showed any aggressive behavior.
The Columbia Humane Society sent two of the dogs to Hannah. The organization issued this statement to KGW confirming that it cancelled its contract with Hannah and took back its remaining animals after learning Hannah euthanized its dogs.
“You can’t print our reaction because it’s profane,” Columbia Humane board president Lori Furman told KGW. “We were very unhappy. They didn’t call us to take the dogs back.”
Here’s the story from KGW. The reporter has some quotes from Hannah employees regarding Scott Campbell’s order to kill the dogs.
