KOMO News reported that a fire destroyed the office for Second Chance Dogs in Roy, WA. Sadly, the group’s office was part of the home of its founder Diana Crimi, and the house was a total loss.

Started in 2009, Second Chance Dogs is a non-profit organization designed to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned, abused neglected and forgotten dogs.

Crimi had 9 dogs in her care when the fire started. 2 of them, Belle and Horace, didn’t survive.

“I immediately looked a the garage, and I could see windows ere black and the smoke was starting to come out,” said Crimi told KOMO News. “I went running from the garage around the back yard calling for dogs. I was just calling for names.”

The fire not only destroyed Crimi’s house, it also burned up the group’s dog food, crates, kennels, beds, and other supplies, as well as a van Crimi used to transport the dogs.

Needless to say, Crimi and Second Hand Dogs needs help from the Seattle area’s dog rescue community to rebuild her home and get the rescue up and running again. You can help by making a contribution on the group’s GoFundMe page GoFundMe page.

All contributions are tax deductible.

Please help if you can.
