Be part of something extraordinary!

Meet great people and learn new skills, all while helping animals and their owners on some of the worst days of their lives.

August 22, 2021
1:00 — 2:00 pm
Zoom! (Link coming shortly.)

Flint was partway down a steep cliff, dense with foliage. His owner hoped that he’d make it back up on his own, but the terrain just wasn’t cooperating.

It was time to call WASART.

WASART isn’t your typical animal rescue organization — we take that word “rescue” seriously, and quite literally. Be it a dog like Flint, somewhere he shouldn’t be unable to get out, or another like Wiley who accompanied his owner hiking only to be unable make it back on his own, or a horse like Flame who was having trouble standing up, WASART has the expertise, the equipment, the reputation, and the relationships to help.

And above all, we have volunteers.

Volunteers like you.

And you don’t even have to rappel down a cliff. (Unless, of course, you want to!)

WASART volunteers are extraordinary people who give of their time and expertise to help animals and their owners in emergencies.

WASART is truly a life-changing experience.

It’s not just about jumping off a cliff, hauling on a rope, or running an emergency animal shelter — WASART volunteers use their skills in a variety of ways ranging from call coordination, to equipment handling, radio communications, fundraising, outreach, training and education, and much, much more.

Of course if you want to jump off a cliff, we can help you learn how to do that too — safely!

Our volunteers often get more than they give.  Part of WASART’s expertise and reputation is based on its training. You can learn as much, or as little, as you like as you make friends working with like-minded people to give back to your community in this unique and much appreciated way.

It is so far reaching. If you want to help animals in distress you can; if you want personal information to help you if ever in distress, you can get this too; if you want to meet new, friendly and welcoming people – you can!

Our Open House is your chance to meet team members, and learn all the different ways you can help us, as well as all the different ways we can help you. Presentations approximately quarter-after each hour, with lots of Q&A and mingle time before, between, and after. Come see what we’re all about!

And Flint?

Flint the dog is back with his owner. He's receiving love and attention.

Tired and thirsty, but otherwise unharmed, Flint was reunited with his owner and, after a check-up, proceeded to take a long, much needed nap after his adventure.

Read more of Flint’s story here: Flint, Dog Over Cliff in Snohomish, and more of the kinds of stories that you could be a part of here: WASART Stories.
