I’ve written several posts about Brett Bennett, who in my opinion is a scam artist. He stages videos with his Rottweiler Brutus in order to generate thousands of viewers on YouTube, which in turn pays him based on the number of views his videos attract.
He had another Rottweiler named Hank that died in January.
Some of Bennett’s exploits include: falsely claiming his Rottweilers were therapy dogs so he could film a fundraising video at Seattle Children’s Hospital, staging dangerous dog confrontations to attract viewers to his videos, buying fake service dog credentials for his dog, and raising money for a what I believe was a fake dog rescue group he started (the rescue’s website is no longer active).
In his latest video, Bennett convinces a woman to have her toddler throw a tennis ball for Brutus. Seconds after the toddler has the ball, Brutus lunges forward and grabs the ball out of the kid’s hand.
I have no idea how this gigantic dog grabbed the ball without harming the kid, but he could have easily chomped down on the toddler’s hand and caused a serious injury.
After this near miss, Bennett put the ball on the kid’s stroller tray, and Brutus snatched it again.
This video shows that Bennett can’t maintain control of his dog and was oblivious to the fact that it almost chomped down on the kid’s hand. Or he was more interested in shooting a cute video instead of the toddler’s safety.
He even gave the video a sensationalistic title – “Rottweiler rips ball from babies hand” to attract more people to watch the it.
Please keep away from Brett Bennett if you see him trying to stage a video with his dog. He cannot be trusted.
