November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and if you’re still looking for a mature relationship, two Seattle area shelters are offering big discounts for adopting a senior pet.

The Seattle Animal Shelter will only charge $15 in November (normally $175-$210) if you adopt a dog (or cat) 6-years-old or older. This includes the cost of all vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip.
Homeward Pet Adoption Center will charge $50 this month (normally $75) to adopt any dog over 8-years-old. The fee covers flea treatment, de-worming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip.
In case you’ve forgotten, here are the Seattle Humane Society’s Top 5 Reasons to Adopt a Mature Pet:
MELLOW PERSONALITY
You know exactly who you are adopting because his or her personality is formed. Plus, these great dogs and cats tend to have just the right level of playfulness for busy families.
ALREADY HOUSE-TRAINED
Most mature pets have already learned many of life’s lessons – including potty lessons!

MAKE THEMSELVES AT HOME
Older companion animals seem to acclimate more quickly to new settings.
HAVE A LOT OF LOVE TO GIVE
Many of our adopters say that senior dogs and cats really seem to appreciate it when they are adopted and bond to their new family more readily than younger pets.
YOU CAN TEACH AN OLD DOG (OR CAT) NEW TRICKS!
With older pets, you don’t have to spend time teaching them all the basics – they already know them! Instead, have fun teaching them new tricks!
So what are you waiting for?
