Yesterday, Seattle Parks and Recreation announced it has re-opened water access at the Magnuson Park dogs off-leash area.
Earlier this month, toxic algae was found in accumulated scum in Lake Washington along the shores of the off-leash area.
Tests of the water this week by the King County Water and Land Resources Division show that the toxin levels are normal and the lake waters are now safe for dogs and humans.
Water access had been closed at the popular dog park since Jan. 14, 2015.
