The Washington State Animal Rescue Team (WASART) provides emergency response, sheltering, and training for the technical rescue of animals in emergencies and disasters.
A few times a year WASART rescues dogs that fall down steep slopes or find lost dogs in the wilderness
Yesterday WASART rescued a German shorthaired pointer named Emmett that had fallen to the bottom of a 200 ft. cliff. After people reported they heard a dog barking at the foot of the cliff WASART was called in to rescue him.
Working with the Tulalip Fire Department, WASART was able to pull Emmett up the cliff safely, and the only injury he had was a sore paw. He’s now back with his family.
