While being interviewed by KIRO about a mutilated cat found in his south Seattle neighborhood, Paul George said that “pets are being stolen right out of the owners’ yards, in broad daylight.”
George said 3 chihuahuas have been stolen from his yard.
“We did everything we could to find them,” he told KIRO. “We put up fliers, we checked Craigslist, we searched all the local dog pounds, nothing.”
George also said “others have reported the same crime to Seattle police.”
The neighborhood is around 42nd and Bateman just east of the King County airport.
I haven’t heard about pets being stolen in this particular neighborhood, but it does seems like dog thefts are on the rise.
The best thing you can do to ensure your dog isn’t stolen is never it alone in your yard, your car, outside a store, or any other public place.
