Last week I wrote about a girl in Whatcom County who lost her dog in a house fire. Kami Dodd and her daughter Nona lost every possession they had except the clothes they were wearing.
Their English Bulldog Maude, who was Nona’s best friend, was trapped inside the house and didn’t survive.
This week, KOMO reported that after Kami and Nona moved in Kami’s sister, Nona found a new friend in her aunt’s dog.
Stella is a 4-year-old pit bull who “sleeps in (Nona’s) bed and gives her comfort.”
KOMO said both Stella and Maude were rescue dogs adopted from Rescued Hearts Northwest, which was founded by Nona’s grandmother in 2013.
