Last week I wrote about the Oregon Humane Society's rescue of about 40 shar peis from a breeder in Goldendale, WA. Yesterday KATU reported that 30 of the dogs are ready for adoption. The dogs range in age from six months to six years old.

Last week I wrote that the Issaquah-based rescue group People United for Pets rescued 55 dogs from an overcrowded shelter in California and brought them up to the Northwest where their prospects for adoption are much better.

Last Sunday I dropped by the Pawsitive Alliance April Drools Adoption Event at Paws-Abilities in Fife. Over 50 dogs from 14 shelters found forever homes in about 3 hours. I enjoyed seeing a constant stream of happy dogs with their new families streaming out the door.

Issaquah rescue group takes 55 dogs from overcrowded California shelter

Last weekend, volunteers from the rescue group People United for Pets (PUP) traveled to an overcrowded Stockton, CA shelter to pick up 26 dogs and bring them back to Washington. However, once they arrived at the shelter, they spent 12 hours loading up 55 dogs to transport back here.
