This is one of two puppies adopted by this proud Pop
The Canine Christmas Extravaganza Adoption Event organized by the Pawsitive Alliance yesterday was a HUGE SUCCESS! 20 shelters and rescues from across Washington brought 173 dogs to Paws-Abilities in Fife, and over 100 of them were adopted. Others are waiting for their home visits.
Randy and I decided to check out the event. The first sign that it was going to be a success was the long line of cars parked on the street. As we walked to Paws-Abilities we saw several smiling families and individuals walking out with their happy dogs.

One of the many dogs that I wanted to take home
We were there for about an hour, and at least 100 people filled the room the entire time.
The Pawsitive Alliance and participating groups deserve a ton of credit for their hard work to organize the event and generate such a large turnout. They set up the room extremely well so the large crowd didn’t hamper anyone from getting around. And some groups like the Barks R Us in Yakima traveled several hours so their dogs would have a chance to be adopted.
The only negative thing I can report is that, with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and no yard, we couldn’t take any of the dogs home with us, although I came VERY CLOSE several times. One day……
Here’s the video I took. Check out all the great dogs:
Thanks should also go to Paws-Abilities for donating their cool facility for the day.
The Pawsitive Alliance organizes theses events a few times a year. I’ll let you know when I hear about the next one.
